Well.. Not Quite but It really doesn't take a genius to come up with something delicious in the kitchen. You just have to know what you're doing. Whether you're a new to cooking or a season cook, you really need to start with the basics and that's understanding flavours. (What goes with What & What tastes good with What) By undersatnding these, you'll need to be prepared to experiment a lot. Once you know What flavours to cook with, you're pretty much good to go. Don't be scared to fail. And be prepared for it to taste horrible sometimes. (Exerimenting) Eat it, or throw it away and try again. Later I will put up a blog about different types of flavours you can cook with and maybe that will help you in your selection of Flavours, Herps and Spices.
